Overview

Launch a pearl through coral bumpers, gather shells and slide the cradle to catch the return. Only a safe catch banks your treasure in Pearlbound, a free original arcade game.

Pearlbound — Aim high. Bring your treasure home.

How to play

Each voyage has eight launches. Hit shells with the pearl, then catch the pearl in the cradle. After the eighth return or miss, compare your banked score with your local best. There is no target score required to finish.

Pink shells are worth 25 and the golden shell 75. A catch also adds 5 × the number of shells collected on that launch squared. Banking every shell on a board adds 150 and reveals the next layout. Missing or spending seven seconds in flight loses that launch’s cargo and restores those shells.

To aim, press in the playfield and pull downward: the opposite direction shows the launch. Pull farther for more power, then release. A short drag cancels for free. Once airborne, move or drag horizontally in the field to move the cradle beneath the pearl.

Controls

With the game focused, Left/Right adjusts your aim and Up/Down changes power. Enter or Space launches. During flight, hold Left/Right to move the cradle. P pauses. The game also pauses when the page loses focus. Pause, audio, fullscreen and restart buttons stay inside the game.

Tips

Watch the pearl rather than the shells after launch. A coral collision can reverse its horizontal motion. Small catches still count; you do not need to clear the board in one shot. A safe empty catch scores zero. Restart asks for confirmation and resets the current voyage.

What makes this voyage different

  • Two decisions per launch: find a route, then catch the return.
  • Coral bumpers and three changing layouts shape each voyage.
  • Unhurried aiming, eight launches and a score worth bringing home.

About

Pearlbound is an original Spunky Game arcade game. Its sea-glass artwork, underwater chimes and catch-to-bank rules were made for this game. Play in your browser without an account.

Music and effects have separate switches. Your best score and these preferences are saved on this browser, shared across languages on the same site. An unfinished voyage is not saved. If storage is unavailable, you can still play. Replay keeps the same layout seed; the next-voyage button changes it.
