Two moths. One forest concert.

Emberbeat is a two-lane rhythm game. Lantern moths drift down through the night; hit the matching drum and join their forest concert. Choose from 36 short pieces across six difficulty chapters. Preview one to find the melody, or jump straight in.

Listen, then join the beat

First, make it to the end of a piece. Then work on getting each beat closer. Watch the mistake counter at the top: go over the limit and you will need another take.

  1. 01
    Tap at the gold line

Press the drum on the moth’s side as it reaches the gold line. Closer timing earns more points.

  2. 02
    Keep the feather tail held

A feather tail marks a long note. Press when its head reaches the line and hold until the tail passes.

  3. 03
    Let hollow rings pass

Do not press the side with a hollow ring. Let it pass, then catch the next beat.

Two keys are all you need

On a keyboard, D plays the left drum and F the right. On a phone, tap the drums. Keep the matching key or drum pressed for long notes. If the keys do not respond, click the playfield first.

Your part in the concert

A different piece at every level

Bright bells and plucked strings carry 36 short pieces, each with its own melody and arrangement. A piece lasts about 35–53 seconds. Choose ‘Listen to this song’ to hear it first. A well-timed hit plays the matching note from that piece.

Start with one hand, then try alternating taps, long notes and syncopation. All six difficulty chapters are open, so pick a piece you like and practise until it feels natural.

Before you play

Where should I start?

Try the first Tutorial piece, Lantern Seed. It uses only the left drum to help you find the beat. Preview it first if you like, then wait for each moth to reach the gold line before tapping.

Why do my long notes count as misses?

Hold from start to finish: press when the head reaches the gold line and release after the tail passes it. Letting go early counts as one mistake.

Should I hit the hollow rings?

No. Let them pass without pressing that side. If a regular note arrives on the other lane at the same time, play that note as usual.

Can I raise my total by replaying one piece?

Only your best completed score for each piece counts towards the total. A new record adds just the improvement. Records stay in this browser and do not sync between devices.

Can I skip ahead?

Yes, all 36 pieces are open. Choose a difficulty chapter, then a piece. Notes come in the same order on every retry, so you can learn to hear the next beat coming.

What if my taps always feel late?

Open Music / Sound effects, adjust Timing offset a little, and try the same piece again. Positive values accept later taps; negative values accept earlier taps. The range is −150 to +150 ms.
